The Arctic is warming faster than any other place on Earth. This has a drastic effect on the region’s ecosystem, and subsequently, on the global ecosystem. Existing research was conducted in the spring and summer, but to get a deeper understanding of regional ecological processes, our project’s scientists are staying on Svalbard year-round. They are specifically researching life cycles, activity and overwintering during the dark season.

Our role in the project: We are communicating the journey of our scientists in Svalbard through creating and consistently updating the project’s social media pages and website. By fostering and coordinating communication channels with the PhD students in Svalbard, we are telling the project’s story as it unfolds in real time.
